Trainee Solicitor – How to Apply

Our trainee solicitors work alongside our team of dedicated and talented professionals. The training contract is completed over two years and provides broad legal experience across departments in our Leighton Buzzard and Ampthill offices. This structure offers exposure to work for both business and private clients, while developing core skills in drafting, legal research, client interviewing and negotiation. Trainees work closely with experienced professionals and receive structured support throughout their training.
Eligibility
To be considered for a trainee solicitor role, applicants should have:
Ø A 2:1 degree or above (applications with extenuating circumstances will be considered)
Ø Completed the LPC or SQE
Ø Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ø A strong attention to detail
Ø The ability to work quickly and accurately
Ø Commitment to meeting deadlines
Ø High levels of initiative and motivation
Applicants should be in a position to work with us as a paralegal before commencing a training contract. This approach benefits both parties by ensuring a strong mutual fit ahead of the two-year training period.

Your cover letter forms part of the assessment process, so please ensure it is accurate, well-presented and free from spelling or grammatical errors.
If selected, you will be invited to a first-stage interview for a paralegal position. Successful candidates who complete their probation period will then be invited to undertake a series of drafting tasks. If these are completed to a satisfactory standard, you will be invited to a final interview. Successful candidates will then receive a formal offer of a trainee solicitor role.
